El Camino Crossing Launches Commercial Phase

Homewise Live/Work/Play Development in Santa Fe Including Two Restaurants and a Local Coworking Space Expansion

Escondido, a coastal Mexican food restaurant by award winning chef Fernando Ruiz. Escondido will feature healthy, fresh Mexican cuisine, margaritas, tequilas and mezcals. The 3,000 sq. ft restaurant will feature a patio and a rooftop deck. Vince Kadlubek, co-founder of Meow Wolf, is a partner in the project.

Tender Fire, a popular pizza pop-up in the El Rey Court, will be opening its first brick-and-mortar location. Tender Fire offers naturally leavened pizza dough with a focus on local, healthy ingredients as well as vegan and gluten-free options. The 3,000 sq. ft. Italian-style cafe will feature community lunch and full-service dinner.

Co-Fe, Santa Fe’s first coworking space, will open its second location at El Camino Crossing. Called Flywheel Collaborative, the 3,000 sq. ft space will feature exciting interior space as well as an exterior deck.

“Santa Fe has a legacy of walkable, bikeable neighborhoods on the east side. El Camino Crossing brings this way of living — where you can live, work, and play all without needing to get in a car — to the Siler Rufina neighborhood,” said Johanna Gilligan, Director of Community Development at Homewise. “In addition, our leases offer our commercial tenants first right of refusal to purchase their spaces — a potential game changer for local entrepreneurs.”

El Camino Crossing features 40 single family homes, condominiums, and mixed-use live/work studios as well as commercial and mixed-use space. It is located on the historic Camino Real and offers walking and biking access to all parts of Santa Fe. The project architect on the commercial phase is Scout Architecture + Design.
